The Lone Star Chapter of Stein Collectors International serves the needs of beer stein collectors in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.  It was founded in 1980 and has three times hosted the Annual SCI Convention in Texas for all members of Stein Collectors International (SCI). Annual membership in the Lone Star Chapter is available to all members of SCI at the rate of $10 per year per household.
The Lone Star Chapter meets three times a year (spring, summer and fall) in either a member's home or in a public facility. We rotate our meetings between the Houston, Dallas and Central Texas areas. Although food and beverages are served, currently there is no fee for attending meetings in members' homes thanks to the generosity of the hosts. Payment for meetings in public places is the individual member’s responsibility. Typical meetings include a short business session, a talk on a stein subject, a viewing of the host’s stein collection, a "show and tell" session on steins brought to the meeting by individuals and the opportunity to buy and sell steins.  Additionally, a newsletter is published in connection with each meeting.
Stein Collectors International is a non-profit, member owned an operated organization dedicated to advancing the state of knowledge and the appreciation of beer steins and other drinking vessels.
Our members are very knowledgeable of beer steins and we are privileged to have one member who has been designated as a Master Steinologist by the national organization.  Our members' collections include a wide range of drinking vessels dating from the current day back to the Middle Ages.
